How Much Do Seller Fees Cost on Shopee Philippines?

Listing your products on Shopee Philippines is completely free. However, seller fees are charged for every successful order made. Currently, there are three types of seller fees on Shopee: (1) commission fee, (2) transaction fee, and (3) service fee for joining promotions and other programs.

These seller fees enable Shopee to further support sellers in growing their online businesses through improved platform services, seamless payment transactions, and exclusive seller support programs.

Let’s break down all these Shopee seller fees one by one.

Shopee Commission Fees

According to Shopee, the commission fee serves as an ‘access fee’ imposed on sellers, for continued access to the services and benefits offered by their platform.

Shopee applies a category-specific commission fee. This is calculated based on the cost of goods sold (COGS) after accounting for seller-sponsored discounts and vouchers.

The Shopee commission fee rate varies depending on the seller account type and the product category.

Effective April 1, 2024, Shopee offers category-based commission fees ranging from 5% to 7.72% for Shopee Mall sellers and 5% to 6.50% for Shopee Marketplace sellers.

Shopee Transaction Fees

Transaction fees are the handling fees that cover the cost of processing payments using Shopee’s services.

Starting January 1st, 2024, Shopee charges 2.24% of the final amount a buyer pays after any seller discounts are applied. However, the transaction fee is charged before any Shopee discounts or rewards (like item rebates or Shopee coins) are deducted.

Shopee Service Fees

As mentioned, the Service Fees are applied only to Shopee sellers who joined the platforms’ Coins Cashback (CCB Program ), and Free Shipping (FSS) Program. That means the total service fee that the seller pays will depend on the program they join:

  • Coins Cashback Program: When you join this program, you’ll need to pay a 3.36% fee (capped at ₱100) on the cost of your goods sold (COGS) for each successful order.
  • Free Shipping Program: Sellers in this program pay a 5.6% fee on COGS for every successful order.

BIR 1% Withholding Tax (Effective July 15, 2024):

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Starting July 15, 2024, Shopee will automatically deduct a 1% Creditable Withholding Tax of 50% of your gross income (ie. 0.5% of your gross sales), following BIR Revenue Regulation No. 16-2023.

As a Shopee seller, you’ll be subject to a withholding tax on your Shopee sales if any of the following apply:

  • Your shop made over ₱500,000 in the past year (or is on track to this year).
  • You sell on other online platforms and their total sales (combined with Shopee) exceed ₱500,000.
  • You fail to submit a “sworn declaration” about your total online sales.

To avoid any disruptions to your Shopee account, make sure you submit your complete business information on the platform by July 11th, 2024. Shopee may hide your listings or limit your account access if this information is missing.
